Marengo was originally built in 1837 in Autauga County. but in 1847, the house was dismantled and moved across the river and reconstructed in its current location in Lowndesboro, Alabama. The house is owned by the Lowndesboro Landmarks Foundation. Leslie Bailey, owner of "Silver Spoon" & "Extraordinary Event Planning," became the proprietor of Marengo in the summer of 2007 to develop it as a wedding and event venue.

CME Church

Thought this might be a good time to throw in a few pictures of the CME Church that's located across the road from Marengo.    The church is owned by the Lowndesboro Landmarks Foundation and is available for special events.  I've always thought it would be a beautiful, rustic site for a wedding... followed by a fantabulous reception at Marengo!!

Fondly,
